The Uffizi picture gallery and Piazza della Signoria

Resist the urge to cross the Ponte Vecchio and move just a few steps further away from Hotel Berchielli: the courtyard of the Uffizi will appear on the left in front of the eponymous picture Gallery visited every year by more than a million lovers of Italian and European art from around the world.

The splendid colonnaded courtyard connects the Archibusieri bank of the Arno River to Piazza della Signoria, the historic centre of the city’s civic life, dominated by the splendid and imposing Palazzo Vecchio, still today the seat of the city’s government.
